Re: summer catch-up

We've been very busy this summer...a few photos to catch up. Here are the boys playing at Stinson Beach. This day in early July was one of the only sunny, warm days we've had all summer at the Pacific Coast. Fun to play in the sun, despite the 56 degree water.

The boys like to play a game "running away" from the waves. Who doesn't? But it's still fun to see their pure joy in discovering the fun for themselves.

Need for a 3-way nap later.

Dahrius & dad & Monty go to an A's game every year for father's day. Perhaps next year Ranier will join them. But they had a great time...and the A's won!!

In the meantime, Ranier & I went for a jaunt to Chinatown in SF. I had the one goal of getting some new Chinese sequined slippers. We took BART there (trains, fun!) but every time I tried to look around in a shop for some slippers, Ranier would grab some delicate breakable item and look at me tauntingly. Of course I scolded him and tried to get him interested in handing something non-breakable (like slippers), but he would just waggle the ceramic tea pot in face and run away down another aisle giggling. sigh. No shopping with Ranier yet. He did enjoy the cable car ride home & watching the "woahkos" pushing the turntable quite a lot, though.

Then mid-July we took off for an east coast trip. First stop was Portland Maine, a great summer city and fun for the kids. We spent the morning at the Narrow Gauge Train Museum, complete with real trains to run around in and a real train ride on the waterfront.

Next we headed to Boston for a brief visit with Ahrash's cousin, Shamim, his wife Nicole & new baby Gabriella. So precious!! One month old.

Reunion and whale-watching up next...
