Ranier is now really enjoying reading stories (select ones), touching the books and turning the pages.
We had a very nice Valentine's Day. In the morning, Megan helped bake cookies at Dahrius' school, and then Ahrash made a lovely dinner that the adults ate after the kids went to bed. Lovely! For Megan's bday, we ate with the kids, put Ranier down for the night, and grandparents (Maman and Baba) came over and put Dahrius to bed while we had a lovely night out for dessert/drinks. Then on Sat., the lucky grandparents babysat both kids again while we went out for a very lovely supper at the infamous Chez Panisse. We had a great time! Here we are before heading out to Chez Panisse.
Oh Dear! Our beloved blue sling that mom/grandma/Nana made has finally given in. It was well-loved and well-used by mom and babies, but alas, it has torn.
Dahrius is doing well and is really settling in with his new friends at his school. Ranier is still quite a ways from crawling and is now 10 months, but he is doing well.
The contrast between the boys is interesting. Dahrius was army crawling (could get anywhere he wanted) by 5 1/2 months and was really crawling by 8 1/2 months and standing. Ranier pivots, but doesn't much like being up on all 4s. He'll get it one day on his own time. Here's a little action. I'm pretty sure he's saying, "I have nothing to complain about, but since I see you there, I will make some shrieks until you pick me up."
Till soon!
